Sheaves

Sam Technology Engineers has developed a range of standard Sheaves and Sheave Assemblies. Fabricated, Solid or Cast:

  • Ship Lifts.

Sheaves can be supplied with frame hardened or polymer grooves completely assembled with labyrinth covers, seals covers, seals and axles. Special purpose Sheaves can also be designed and built.

     

Couplings

Our Couplings provide cost-effective, high strength shaft-to-shaft connections for different applications, with or without braking systems. Coupling types include:

  • Gearflex

  • Tonofelx Rope Drum

Frequently used to couple hydraulic drives and/or speed reducers, our couplings offer high bending moment capacities, infinite adjustability and zero backlash. The Tonoflex coupling is a specially designed flexible coupling designed to reduce alignment stress when assembling a rope drum and gear box.

SAM Technology Engineers' design complete drive assemblies which incorporate rotating machines, brakes and couplings.

 

Anti-Collision

(NavTech)  (Case study)

Anit Collision systems have been develop to detect objects as thin as 10mm and in all weather conditions at a sufficient distance to enable the crane to be brought to a halt without impact.

The Navtech crane anti-collision system uses high-resolution radar to identify hazardous obstructions in the path of the moving crane boom. Complete radar coverage of 360 degrees.

Unaffected by heavy:

  • Rain
  • Fog
  • Dust

Operates effectively in all weather conditions, twenty-four hours a day.

Crane Load Cells

Same Technology Engineers offers a full range of load cells including CE approved, for hoisting equipment. Their breaking load is five times larger than the normal load. Types include:

  • Load Cells on Cables
  • Traction
  • Annular
  • Load Pins

All types are available with both standard mV output and amplified 4-20 mA output. Load cells are designed to interface with digital readout screens.

Stinis has developed a wide range of container spreaders and cargo lifting equipment. There are 4 main spreader types:

Cabins and Seats

(Merford)

Sam Technology Engineers is proud to represent the Merford range of cabins and Seats in Australia. Merford based in Holland is a world renowned leader in crane cabin design and manufacture.

Working closely with clients to provide a safe comfortable and productive working environment is SAM Technology Engineers' and Merford's priority. Designs include standard, hot metal and container crane cabins, which are used in the

  • Aluminium Industries

Merford has investigated back and neck complaints experienced by crane drivers. In conjunction with biomechanical engineers Merford developed a seat to address problems associated with the driver having to be in a continually bent position, which results in strain on the neck and back.

The Ergoseat addresses these issues providing upper body support and a wide range of adjustment,
